The historic city of Cork, situated on the river Lee, is located close to the southern coast. As Ireland’s second largest city it plays an important role as a commercial, industrial and services center for the southern part of Ireland.
From a transport perspective Cork is served by a motorway and road network and an intercity rail station. It has an international airport and seaport.
The cities public transport is serviced predominately by buses.
