Utena is one of the oldest towns of Lithuania that was mentioned for first time in a letter of the King Mindaugas in 1261. Utena is situated in an exceptionally picturesque location – amid the lakes Dauniškis and Vyžuonaitis.
The land of Utena is fascinating during all the seasons: in summer holiday-makers are enticed by wonderful Lake Alaušas, in winter – many car racing fans are attracted by the popular Halls Winter Rally. Holiday-makers are welcome to cosy homesteads of rural tourism, the number of which exceeds forty in the land of Utena.
Regular visitors of Utena can notice that during the recent years the town has been visibly beautified. Some new squares and cosy parks were established, streets are being rapidly improved.
