Padua is a city located in the Veneto Region, northern Italy. Padua is the economic and communications hub of the area.
The city is sometimes included, with Venice and Treviso, in the Padua-Treviso-Venice Metropolitan Area, having a population of c. 1,600,000.
The city is picturesque, with a dense network of arcaded streets opening into large squares, and many bridges crossing the various branches of the Bacchiglione river, which once surrounded the ancient walls like a moat.
A program of measures on urban mobility has been implemented useful to govern, control and limit the car usage. Now it is necessary to develop and continually update a strategic plan in order to coordinate all the measures inside a scheduled program that includes a monitoring plan
