Status of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan

The Sustainable Urban Mobility Action Plan for Viseu is under development.
Regarding the sustainability of the current mobility model, Viseu has a strategy to invest in diversified means of transport, in particular public transport and soft modes, and to promote a more inclusive accessibility for all in areas of low density, providing services that allow greater equity of access to public transport by these populations.
Indeed, the information level, awareness, intelligent systems and integration of different modes, may potentially make mobility more efficient, coordinated and targeted to users, while ensuring a capacity of management, planning and monitoring, which enables the city to enhance mobility as a development factor.

Under the Portugal 2020 framework, Sustainable Urban Mobility Action Plans are being developed for all the Intermunicipal Communities (NUT III). Viseu is integrated in the Dão-Lafões Intermunicipal Action Plan.
